The name ‘Fynsk Forår’ (Springtime in Funen) was inspired by the Funen composer Carl Nielsen (1865-1931), who was born and grew up in South Funen, just 24 kilometres from Ørbæk Bryggeri. He describes springtime in Funen in his choral work of the same name. In fact, he describes it so well that he inspired us to create, in taste form, our version of springtime in Funen.
Fynsk Forår has a wonderful aroma of grapes, pears and bananas from the Belgian ale yeast we used for the bear – and elderflower too, of course. It also tastes of elderflower. That is what gives Fynsk Forår its special taste of spring and summer.
Fynsk Forår is the perfect spring beer. It oozes sunshine and that special, physical feeling we get when the flowers bloom and we sense that summer is just around the corner.
Best enjoyed with:
Fynsk Forår is a light beer that goes well with delicate spring and summer food such as fish, salads, light pasta dishes and light meat. It is also a lovely thirst quencher, while relaxing on the patio and enjoying a snack after mowing the lawn and potting the flowers.
